New reports on RSD in South Africa and Kenya

April 27, 2010

Two new reports have been published documenting severe problems in South Africa’s RSD system, which is the largest in the world. RSD in South Africa is run by the government, not UNHCR, but offers an interesting comparison with UNHCR RSD because it is not one of the traditional western asylum states.

Meanwhile, a report  from the Humanitarian Policy Group about refugee protection in Kenya (where UNHCR is responsible for RSD) shows some of the challenges translating UNHCR recognition of refugee status into actual protection for refugees.
